## Median $\stackrel{~}{x}$

The median $\stackrel{~}{x}$
is the middle value of the statistical set, which is sorted by the magnitude of the statistical values.

The middle element is determined by the formula:

order number of the middle element
$=\frac{n+1}{2}$
.

If the number is with a floating point, the median is determined by the average of the corresponding neighboring (closest) two members of the file.

- $\stackrel{~}{x}$
- median;
- $n$
- a number of elements of the statistical set.

The median is an mean value indicator.
